6die für die Befreiung (Athens) aufgebracht wurden,
7zweitausend Drachmen beigetragen hat - - -
8- - - [un]aufgefordert, sondern selbst von sich aus, da er die
9Notlage des Volkes begriff; und jetzt, als Mangel
10an Geld für die Dammaufschüttung des Hafens in Zea
11entstanden war, er auch bei dieser Umlage nicht
12zurückstand, sondern vielmehr den Bürgern sich als
13(um Wohltaten) wettstreitend zeigte und beitrug, was das
14Volk beschlossen hatte, für sich selbst und für
15seine Söhne Tharrynon und Agamedes; – Damit nun
16auch das Volk denen, die ihm Wohltaten leisten wollen,
17öffentlich das Mögliche abstattet von dem, was angemessen wäre,
18zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die
19erlosten Vorsitzenden für die kommende Volks-
20versammlung hierüber verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage
21des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach
22der Rat es für gut befindet, dass man belobige Apollas S.d. Tharrynon
23aus - -on und ihn bekränze mit einem Olivenkranz
24wegen seines Ehrgeizes und seines Wohlwollens gegenüber dem Rat
25und dem Volk; dass er proxenos sein soll, er selbst und
26seine Nachkommen; dass sein soll für ihn auch das Recht zum Erwerb von einem Haus
27für ein halbes Talent, von Land für zwei Talente; dass diesen
28Beschluss der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert,
29aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis;
30dass die entstandenen Kosten für die Aufzeichnung
31auf die Stele der Schatzmeister der Militärkasse
32begleiche.

3he was among the first to donate, both on his own behalf and on
4behalf of both his sons, the maximum that had been provided for in the
5decree, and as regards the advance loan
6of money gathered in the cause of freedom
7he made an advance contribution of 2000 dr., having been assessed for
8- - - or not having been assessed [by the People], but voluntarily endeavouring to meet the
9People's need; and now when a need
10has arisen for money for the fortification of the harbour in Zea,
11he was not found wanting in this public subscription,
12but displaying himself to the citizens as an object of rivalry,
13he contributed to the amount the People
14had decreed both on his own behalf and on behalf of
15his sons Tharrhynon and Agamedes; in order therefore
16that the People may be seen to be rendering to its
17utmost ability what is due to those who wish to benefit it,
18for good fortune, the Council shall decide, that the
19presiding committee allotted for the forthcoming
20Assembly shall put these matters on the agenda, and submit
21the opinion of the Council to the People, that
22it seems good to the Council to praise Apollas son of Tharrhynon
23of [Koloph?]on and crown him with a foliage crown,
24for his love of honour and good will towards the Council
25and the People; and he shall be proxenos, both himself and his
26descendants, and shall have right of ownership of a house
27up to half a talent, and of land two talents; and the
28prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree
29on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis;
30and the treasurer of the military fund shall allocate
31the expenditure accrued for [inscribing?]
32the stele.
